About me Tor Nater:
I have been a life long weather fanatic. I am based out of western ND my main focus of photography subjects are on the northern plains.
I didn’t pick up a camera to chase beauty. I picked it up to chase storms, silence, and something that felt like meaning.
Over time, the Northern Plains carved their way into me. Through injury, isolation, and all the moments I couldn’t outrun, the land became my journal. Every photo in The Weight of the Plains is a page torn from that story, one written in supercells, ruins, aurora, and dirt that never forgets.
I don’t photograph to impress. I photograph to remember. To confront. To connect.
And if you see something of your own scars in these skies, then maybe we both found what we were looking for.
